Workshops 2020

Virtual Artist Talk and Workshop with Westover School in Connecticut.

We did a Zoom meeting and discussed my Ms. Behavior Series, and incorporated Project Dress Codes Paper Doll collages into their Art History course.

"My 'Figuring Women' class was so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn more about Nancy's journey as a photographer. The opportunity to connect her work and its exploration of the power systems at play through representations of women in the media was invaluable to our investigation of the representation of the female form through art. Nancy was open, responsive, and engaging with students and their questions."

Ongoing

Ongoing: Graduate Mentoring

I had the pleasure to work with Nancy as a mentor during the final year of my graduate thesis work. Through her guidance I was introduced to artists like Jo Spence and Mira Schor, and the writings of Marianne Hirsch. These artists, and their writings would have a tremendous influence on my thesis body. It was with Nancy’s thoughtful encouragement and support, that helped me to find the confidence to take my photography and artwork in new and unexpected directions. She often provided the extra boost of encouragement I needed to remind myself to not over think, and simply create! She said, on more than one occasion, “Stop thinking. Start making.” I am forever grateful to Nancy for her mentorship and guidance.
